Last week I received a call from one of my clients. She had informed me that one of her PCs in her office was running very poorly and word power itself off for no reason. My first thought was maybe a virus/spyware or even a failed cooling fan. There are plenty of reasons why a PC would suddenly start running slowly and power off. After visiting my client to trouble shoot more, I opened the PC and was amazed as to how dirty the inside of the PC was.

I’ve always advocate cleanliness to my clients and this time was no exception. As you can see by the posted picture, this computer was never cleaned since the day it was first purchased. I quickly determined that that the issue was the fan over the CPU. It was cluttered with dust and dirt and therefore could not breath. I cleaned the unit with compressed air and her computer was running smoothly again in not time.
